It’s been a while since our last post we know but it’s because, as usual, we’ve been super busy and haven’t really had the opportunity to write a blog! Even now, as we sit here in our HQ we haven’t got much to say (well, write about…). So, why are we writing something at all, well viewers, so that you know we’re still alive and well and to give you an insight into what we’ve been doing!
We’ve been spending a lot of time around frameworks and microservices in the last few months. Working with large scale integration frameworks like Apache Camel which is very useful and feature rich (but also read heavy weight and occasionally obtuse!). We’ve been doing a lot of work with Spring, ranging from Spring Boot to Spring Data. We really love Spring Data because it’s such an easy to use implementation and supports so much technology, if you have the chance we really recommend using it! We’ve also been using JEE7 a little bit, which so far, we’re also impressed with. We like the ease of use and that by definition it fits right into Java so neatly.
So, other than talking about what we’ve been doing we’d like to recommend a presentation that we think it’s definitely worth a watch! The Seven Deadly Sins of Microservices by Daniel Bryant is a fantastic discussion about microservices which is very relevant to today, especially given that everyone claims to be using them!
So that’s it, short and sweet! We’ll be back shortly with a proper blog post about something we been working with or playing with when we, hopefully, get a little less busy!
In the meantime, you’ve been great and we’ve been…
